Piclab Internet Services and Java Programming is the business name under which I (Lee Daniel Crocker <lee@piclab.com>), did contract programming and web design work. I'm not actively pursuing contracts at this time, but I still maintain my personal pages here, as a wiki.
If you are not familiar with wikis, they are living, growing, collaboratively created and edited hyperlinked documents. A wiki is a set of related web pages promiscuously linked to each other, most of which can be edited at will by readers. The first wiki was created by Ward Cunningham in 1995, and many others have been created since then to facilitate collaboration on various projects.
I wrote (along with many others) the software currently used for what is currently the largest wiki, Wikipedia, an open collaborative encyclopedia project. This same software is used for my personal pages here, with a few differences: for one, most of the content pages are not reader-editable, since this is meant to be personal expression (though all the discusion pages are open, and new pages can be added by anyone).
